About the Author

Helen Lauderdale Jones, originally from Cleveland, Tennessee has been teaching private piano lessons for 45 years.  She believes she is blessed to have a musical "gift" from God.  Helen has been teaching since age 12 and shares her lifetime of teaching experience in this book.

Helen instructs 40 students weekly in her Charlotte, North Carolina, Studio.  She has played for many churches, choirs, television programs, radio programs and conventions, political rallies, gospel groups, recording sessions and a wide variety of other events.  Helen also writes musical manuscripts, including four part harmony.

The many students who are playing in churches are Helen's proving ground for her teaching concepts.  She shares a common-sense approach to learning in Looking at Chords.
